What rubbish do we collect?
Acceptable Items
As a general rule, you can put pretty much anything into a skip except hazardous items. All these items are fine:
- Books & Magazines
- Household Waste
- Electrical Equipment (Not PC's & TV's)
- Garden Waste
- Furniture
- Appliances
- Site Waste
- Fridges & Freezers
- Construction Rubbish
- Office Rubbish
- Hard Core (Bricks & Rubble)
- Metal
- Packaging (Including Polystyrene)
- Paper & Cardboard
- Soil (Uncontaminated)
- Wood
Non-Acceptable Items
Skips are excellent for getting rid of most non-hazardous waste material, but for legal or practical reasons there are several items that cannot be put in a skip and must be disposed of separately. You cannot put hazardous or harmful items into a skip. These include are but not limited to:
- Asbestos
- Fluorescent Tubes
- Plasterboard (Unless less than 10% of the load, bagged & dry)
- Batteries
- Liquids
- Medical Waste (These items incur additional charges)
- Solvents
- Oil, Petrol, Diesel & Explosives
- Dead Animals
These Items Incur Additional Charges
For legal and regulatory reasons there are several items that cannot be put in a skip without prior approval and must be disposed of differently. An additional charge is levied for the correct disposal, please contact the office before placing an order online. These items include but not limited to:
- TV's & Computer Monitors
- Tyres
- Fridges & Freezers
- Plasterboard
- Mattresses
